Professional Learning Facilitator Training

National Board Certified Teachers who support candidates need to know more than the component details. They need to be able to support collaborative conversations about teaching. In addition, they need to help candidates ask one another useful questions, become more analytical about their practice, and be able to identify evidence of work that exemplifies the standards of accomplished teaching.

Now that the certification process has changed, the need to receive facilitator training is even greater. We will be using materials created by the National Board, the National Board Resource Center at Stanford, and networks across the country. This year the training will also be using the Canvas course for candidates so participants will also become familiar with this course. National Board offers access to this course for free.
