You are a National Board Certified Teacher. Now what?

Whether you certified many years ago or are a brand new NBCT, you have probably recognized that the ideals of the profession embodied in Board certification have not yet been realized in most American schools. Advancing our own professional growth as well of the growth of the profession demands the attention and commitment of all of us. If you haven’t gotten involved yet, let us help you find your niche in the National Board community.

Learn about new professional opportunities for NBCTs.

The NBRC often receives solicitations for the participation of National Board certified teachers in research, leadership, or advocacy activities, and notices of jobs available to teachers with National Board certification. We post positions that are appropriate for NBCTs and disseminate information from certified teachers seeking new professional opportunities.

Participate in activities that advance good teaching.

Most NBCTs are eager to continue the quest for excellence that began with their National Board certification. The NBRC posts information about events that may enrich and extend professional growth for NBCTs.

Support your colleagues.

The NBRC is offering sessions to help interested NBCTs learn to develop the skills needed to become support providers. Information about the next training session is listed in the events section. Resources for support providers who work with full certification or Take One candidates are available to providers who have attended our sessions.

Make a difference; make a statement.
